The Latin American Nutrition Archives is the official journal of the Latin American Nutrition Society (SLAN) that has been published since 1966, when the National Institute of Nutrition of Venezuela transferred, to the recently created Latin American Nutrition Society, the Venezuelan Nutrition Archives journal, which is published since 1950.

The Latin American Nutrition Archives (Arch Latinoam Nutr ISSN 0004-0622 / ISSN-e: 2309-5806) is a peer reviewed Ibero Latin American journal. It publishes editorials, original articles, short articles, systematic reviews and narratives, special articles, that letters to the editor, on topics of diet, human nutrition, applied nutritional biochemistry, clinical, public and community nutrition, nutrition education, food science and technology, food microbiology, among others.

All manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original, not under simultaneous consideration elsewhere, that does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any person or organization. The Latin American Nutrition Archives publishes articles in three languages: Spanish, English and Portuguese and is published quarterly. in the months of March, June, September, and December, respectively.

The Latin American Nutrition Archives is registered in ASEREME and indexed in PubMed, Scopus, MIAR, Food Science & Technology Abstracts, Science Citation Index, Latindex (Directory), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), Literature Latin American in Health Sciences (LILACS), Institutional Repository Saber-UCV.

The Latin American Nutrition Archives journal has been published in Venezuela since 1992, under the responsibility of the Venezuelan Chapter of the Latin American Nutrition Society. The Bengoa Foundation, the Antímano Child Nutrition Care Center, CANIA and the National Institute of Nutrition support this publication. The editorial office of the journal is in the facilities of the Bengoa Foundation in the city of Caracas.
