The journal GEN is the official organ of the Venezuelan Society of Gastroenterology, founded in 1946. Since 2016, it has evolved from a printed publication to an open-access electronic journal, adapting to digital changes and expanding its reach. Aimed at researchers, residents, specialists, and health professionals, it publishes original works, reviews, brief communications, and clinical cases in gastroenterology and related areas.

Our goal is to promote scientific advancement in disciplines such as Gastroenterology, Digestive Endoscopy, Hepatology, Digestive Surgery, and Coloproctology. In addition to traditional formats, we have innovated with segments like imaGEN, Videos, and Webinars, offering dynamic tools for continuous medical education and knowledge dissemination.

At the journal GEN, we are committed to academic excellence and innovation, fostering collaboration among professionals to improve medical practice and patient well-being. We invite the scientific community to join this project, contributing their research and experiences to continue advancing together in the field of digestive health.
