Scope and editorial policy

MISSION

To disseminate original scientific articles, essays, and bibliographic reviews related to Managerial Sciences, with the aim of contributing and providing insights in:

- Theoretical – epistemological – methodological contexts

- Social contexts

- Educational contexts

VISION

To be a medium that promotes spaces for socialization and investigative participation of a pluri-, inter-, and transdisciplinary nature in the field of Managerial Sciences; that drives the search and construction of knowledge, the dissemination of works, essays, research, experiences for the consolidation of knowledge and research, serving as a bridge of stimulus and support for the continuous and professional training of collaborators.

PERIODICITY

Biannual. January and July.

Gestio et Productio. Revista Electrónica de Ciencias Gerenciales will publish in the first month (first day of the month) of the publication period (January and July).

ACADEMIC AND SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY TARGET

Gestio et Productio. Revista Electrónica de Ciencias Gerenciales receives articles from researchers, undergraduate, postgraduate, and postdoctoral students, teachers, and professionals who aim to expand knowledge in all areas of human knowledge for the development of society.

The Journal does not charge for the submission and processing of articles. No APC charges.

EVALUATION SYSTEM

For the arbitration of articles, Gestio et Productio. Revista Electrónica de Ciencias Gerenciales uses double-blind peer review; where the reviewers do not know the identity of the authors of the articles, and the authors do not know the identity of the reviewers. Articles in languages other than Spanish and English will be accepted. The reviewers are external to the publishing house.

90% of the content of the Journal is original research within the scientific and academic field.

THEMATIC SCOPE

Gestio et Productio. Revista Electrónica de Ciencias Gerenciales is disciplinary and focuses on areas of Managerial Sciences.

Form and preparation of manuscripts

EDITORIAL GUIDELINES

General Information:

1.- The articles must be original and unpublished; besides not being simultaneously submitted to other journals. Articles in languages other than Spanish and English will be accepted. Authors must submit a letter of originality - relevance - responsibility of the article (See model: https://iieakoinonia.org/ojs3/index.php/gestioep/instructivo)

2.- Articles submitted to the Journal must have a maximum of four contributors, including the main one. The editorial committee will consider exceptions to this rule based on originality, relevance, contribution, and the extent of the research process developed in the article.

3.- The Journal is published semi-annually (regular issues).

4.- The journal may publish special issues (special editions) upon agreement with groups, networks, institutions, and organizations that hold research events such as congresses, forums, symposia, and presentations, among others, for which it is essential to submit the articles in accordance with these editorial guidelines.

5.- Contributors to both regular and special issues must register with the Journal's OJS (Open Journal Systems). If they are already registered, it will not be necessary to do it again.

 

On the type and structure of the articles:

6.- Articles will be classified as:

a.- Research: Of the highest originality and innovation. They gather the results of unpublished research, theoretical or experimental, qualitative or quantitative. The original aspects of the research should be clearly appreciated. It is structured with a title in Spanish and English, the name of the author(s), each author's email, preferably Gmail, the institution to which they belong, ORCID identifiers, abstract, keywords, introduction (including the topic or problem statement, objectives or purposes, justification or importance, theoretical framework), methodology, discussion, results, conclusions, references consulted (only those used in the article's citation) (IMEREDIC). It must contain no fewer than 10 reference citations.

b.- Review: Describes and/or compiles the most recent developments or published works on a specific topic, always providing some improvement, complement, or original perspective that should also be expressly highlighted. They are a theoretical synthesis and a current view of the addressed topic, especially emphasizing what can be considered a novel contribution to it. It must contain no fewer than 25 reference citations. It is structured with a title in Spanish and English, the name of the author(s), each author's email, preferably Gmail, the institution to which they belong, ORCID identifier, abstract, keywords, introduction (presentation of the topic), development of the review, contributions generated from the review, references consulted (only those used in the article's citation) (IDEAP).

c.- Reflection: Describes positive experiences in the application of technologies, methods, and current knowledge with notable achievements in any field, preferably in cases that involve improvements or original details that should also be expressly highlighted. It will reflect the "positive experiences" obtained with the real application of techniques or knowledge, prioritizing considerations that present a contribution to universal knowledge. It must contain no fewer than 25 reference citations. It is structured with a title in Spanish and English, the name of the author(s), each author's email, preferably Gmail, the institution to which they belong, ORCID identifier, abstract, keywords, introduction (presentation of the topic), development of the reflection, contributions generated from the reflection, references consulted (only those used in the article's citation) (IDEAP).

d.- Letter to the editor: An open section for all readers who send contributions that complement or discuss original or short original articles published and/or on any thematic area that addresses the same. In these cases, up to four authors are allowed, and a maximum length of 10 pages and no fewer than 5 reference citations.

e.- Editorial: Proposes editorial interest topics in an expository - argumentative manner. Works commissioned by the Director - Editor. 

 

Aesthetic configuration of the articles:

7.- Articles will be written without indentation and without spaces between paragraphs, only to separate titles and subtitles up to a maximum of 5 levels. The use of bullets will be reduced to the minimum necessary.

8.- Articles must be prepared in electronic format, with 1.5 spacing, font size 12 (Arial), with right, left, bottom, and top margins of 2.5 cm, in letter-size paper (letter) in DOC Format. They must have a minimum of ten (10) pages and not exceed twenty-five (25) pages, including graphs, maps, and photographs. The title of the article must not exceed 15 words. Each article must present an abstract of no more than 150 words, and 5 descriptors, in English and Spanish (including the title and descriptors). The descriptors must be separated by semicolons (;) and must not be capitalized and will be structured from the UNESCO Thesaurus, both in Spanish and English (http://vocabularies.unesco.org/browser/thesaurus/es/).

9.- The abstract of the research article will be structured in an indicative-informative way, containing: The main objective or purpose of the research, a brief description of the methodology used, presenting the discussion of results and the most relevant conclusions.

10.- The abstracts of the articles under the typology: Review and Reflection; will be developed under the "non-structured indicative-descriptive type," where the typology of the article and the most outstanding contributions will be mentioned, which will complement what is presented in the body of the work (do not repeat information found in the body of the article).

11.- The Editorial Committee may establish exceptions for works that, due to their originality or contribution, require a longer extension; thus respecting the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA) signed by this journal (https://sfdora.org/read/es/).

12.- APA norms, sixth edition, will be used for citing bibliographic sources referenced in the body of the article, considering the relevant aspects for quotes of fewer than 40 words or more, as well as the number of authors, type of referenced document. (Consult: APA Norms. Javeria Writing Center).

13.- References consulted will be placed at the end of the work in alphabetical order.

a.- For article references, the DOI should be provided. Please use the free tool: http://www.crossref.org/simpleTextQuery

b.- For all references consulted, if available, URLs should be indicated and shortened using: https://n9.cl/es

 

On the editorial process:

14.- Authors will upload the article to the Journal's OJS. At the beginning of the article, the names and surnames of the contributor(s), their address (electronic), institution of affiliation or community, and their respective ORCID must be specified. All contributors must be registered at https://orcid.org/. Authors must fill in all the requested fields when registering and uploading the article. Authors must also upload the letter of originality - commitment - relevance. (See model in the Instructivo tab) 

15.- The article will be reviewed by the Editorial Committee, which within a period of no more than 7 continuous days; will issue its decision of approval or disapproval for the start of the arbitration process in the journal. Articles not approved by the Editorial Committee may not be resubmitted for arbitration in any of the Journals of the Koinonía Institute of Research and Advanced Studies and the Foundation).

16.- All articles will be subjected to anti-plagiarism programs as a quality and ethics policy of the publications:

a.- Proposals containing a high percentage of similarity will not be accepted (more than 10%).

b.- If more than 10% similarity is detected in an article; the Director and/or Editor will contact the main author by correspondence; they will be notified of the situation and given a reasonable period to review the manuscript. 17.- If the decision of the Editorial Committee is approval, the author(s) will be notified of the same.

18.- Upon notification of the article's approval, the author must upload it; with the corrections issued by the editorial committee, to the Journal's OJS System to start the arbitration process. 

19.- Articles will be evaluated based on 4 core criteria:

a.- Originality / Innovation of the research.

b.- Utility / Social relevance

c.- Expository clarity of the text.

d.- Scientific rigor from the assumed research paradigm or approach / Argumentation / Conclusions or final considerations.

 

20.- Articles are arbitrated and classified into the following categories: Approved, Approved with modifications, and Not Approved.  

21.- Originality, relevance, style, and contributions in the field will be evaluated.

22.- For the arbitration of articles, a double-blind peer evaluation will be carried out; where the evaluators do not know the identity of the authors of the articles, and the authors do not know the identity of the evaluators. All evaluators are external to the Publishing House.

23.- The work of the evaluators is strictly confidential. The journal is not responsible for the actions of the evaluators, who are completely autonomous.

24.- Articles will be submitted to external evaluators. Based on the observations and recommendations made by the evaluators, the author(s) may be asked to make modifications to improve the quality of the work.

25.- In the arbitration process, the evaluators and the authors will remain mutually unaware to ensure the cleanliness of the process. In case of discrepancies between the evaluators, the final decision will correspond to the Editorial Committee or the Editor, which will be communicated to the interested parties within a maximum period of 30 working days after receiving the evaluation.

26.- The writings published in Gestio et Productio. Revista Electrónica de Ciencias Gerenciales, are the exclusive responsibility of the authors, both for their opinions, statements, and methods.

27.- Evaluators will have a period of 30 continuous days, from the receipt of the article, to submit the evaluation report to the Director - Editor. The Director and/or the Editor will send this report to the author within a maximum period of 5 continuous days.

28.- Conflicts of interest arising from the verdict of an article will be resolved by the Editorial Ethics Committee of the journal, which is supported by the provisions of the Committee on Publication Ethics (The Committee on Publication EthicsCOPEhttps://publicationethics.org/

29.- Controversies that may arise over the published knowledge will be the responsibility of the author(s) of the article, who may be contacted via email, and a judgment or discussion on the topic addressed may be issued, provided that this is done in an academic and scientific climate, thus developing a feedback process that builds science and knowledge.

30.- This journal provides immediate open access to its content, based on the principle that offering the public free access to research helps a greater global exchange of knowledge. The Journal does not charge for the reception and evaluation of articles; nor for those approved for publication. No APC is charged.

31.- The final decision on the evaluation process, publication of the articles rests exclusively with the Director; Editor and the Editorial Committee, and will be made based on the suggestions/observations/recommendations issued by the reviewers. All articles are subjected to an editorial evaluation process, even when they have been reviewed by experts; and if necessary, the appropriate recommendations will be sent to the authors to improve the quality of the articles to be published.

32. The Director; Editor and two members of the editorial committee will form the Editorial Ethics Committee of the journal. If the editorial ethics committee does not have a unanimous consensus on a particular case; all members of the editorial committee and scientific committee will be convened in full; instance that will determine the final verdict. The Director of the journal will be the only one to notify those responsible for the decisions made by the plenary.

33.- What is not contemplated in these editorial guidelines will be submitted by the Editorial Committee of the Journal.

 

Original articles

Articles must be original and unpublished; in addition to not being simultaneously submitted to other journals. They will be submitted to arbitration for selection and publication through the double-blind peer review system; where the reviewers do not know the identity of the authors of the articles, and the authors do not know the identity of the reviewers. All reviewers and referees are external to the Journal and the Foundation. Articles in languages other than Spanish and English will be accepted.
