Types of Manuscripts
The Gaceta Técnica journal publishes original and unpublished scientific works in the area of civil engineering in all its branches, architecture, and urbanism. Including those that are an alliance between the three disciplines for the dissemination of knowledge and improvement of society.
- Research Articles: Unpublished works of scientific and technical contribution, with a maximum of twenty (20) pages. The following sections are mandatory: Introduction, Development and Methodology, Discussion of results, Conclusions, Funding, Acknowledgments, Conflicts of interest of the author (with the entity that finances the research), References, and Authors' contribution.
- Essays: They must contain a reflection or critical stance on a problem, situation, or topic related to the journal's editorial line, with an extension between five (5) and ten (10) pages maximum. They will be structured as follows: Introduction, Dissertation, Conclusions, Funding, Acknowledgments, Conflicts of interest of the author (with the entity that finances the research), References, and Authors' contribution.
- Reviews or summaries: that compile the state of the art of a specific area of engineering, architecture, urbanism, and education applied to the cited areas with a maximum of fifteen (15) pages.
- Dissemination articles, technical notes, or feasible projects: These are contributions resulting from research, projects in development, or experiences aimed at informing news and/or advances in the specialties covered by the GT journal. They should promote academic dialogue among specialists in the relevant thematic areas of GT, with an extension between three (3) and fifteen (15) pages maximum. They will be structured as follows: Introduction, Dissertation, Conclusions, Funding, Acknowledgments, Conflicts of interest of the author (with the entity that finances the research), References, and Authors' contribution.
Template for work presentation
Style
The works submitted for evaluation must adhere to the following publication standards:
- Monographic contributions can be written in Spanish or English. The original article written with Word 6 or higher word processor should be sent to gacetadic@ucla.edu.ve and gacetadic@gmail.com along with the “Certificate of originality and transfer of article rights” duly signed by each author.
- The texts should be written in Times New Roman, size 12, justified, 1.5 line spacing, with paragraphs without indentation.
- The margins to be used are: 2.5 on all sides of the page.
- The first page must contain:
-Title of the work in Spanish and English -Name(s) and surname(s) of the author(s), respective institutional address(es), unit and department, email addresses, ORCID identification number (https://orcid.org/), curriculum summary not exceeding six (6) lines -Summary and an Abstract not exceeding 250 words each. The summary and the Abstract will be written without indentation -The Summary will be followed by Keywords, and the Abstract by Keywords. Between 3 and 5 Keywords and their corresponding Keywords will be presented, it is recommended to consult the Unesco Thesaurus and Serbiula Subject Thesaurus -The sections should be written in uppercase and highlighted in bold, left-aligned, and numbered consecutively in Arabic -Use size 10 for figure and table captions, indices, subscripts, and other subordinate texts -Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively and identified at the top for tables, and at the bottom for figures -If the work includes images, they should be attached to the email in a separate file with a resolution not less than 250 dpi, indicating their location in the text of the work -If it includes tables, they should be presented in a separate file and indicate their placement in the text of the work -Reference citations in the text and the final list of bibliographic references should present sequential numbering according to the order of appearance -Regarding the preparation of citations and bibliographic references, IEEE standards will be used (available in the Word file) -What is not provided for in these bases will be resolved by the Editorial Committee of the journal
Guidelines or Specifications for the Preparation of References
Reference citations in the text and the final list of bibliographic references should present sequential numbering, according to the order of appearance in the text and in brackets. Code of Ethics for Authors
- They will present their scientific contributions honestly, refraining from omitting the citation of third-party works, as well as referencing those that have not been used faithfully.
- They must send to the editorial committee the “Certificate of originality of articles” [3] duly signed by each author, declaring the originality of the same and possible conflicts of interest.
- Avoid sending the same document to other publications to be considered for possible publication at the same time.
- In the event that a contribution has been benefited by third-party contributions, they should be reflected in the context of the article.
- In the event that a contribution has been financially benefited either by a public or private entity, this contribution should be reflected in the context of the article.
- Submit contributions considering the “Guidelines for Authors”.
- Collaborate with the editorial body by sending the corrections or observations to the document, emanating from peer review, within the assigned times.
- Send together with the re-edited document considering the observations, the authors will send an additional document indicating where the modifications were made, as well as any additional comments regarding them, if any.
Errata Publications
Authors can publish errata, taking responsibility for their content.
