The VENEZUELAN JOURNAL OF SURGERY publishes ORIGINAL articles in OPEN ACCESS that may have been presented at Congresses or Society Meetings and/or are submitted directly by the author through our website, aimed at medical professionals who may or may not belong to our Society. For approval, the manuscript is SUBJECTED TO A DOUBLE-BLIND PEER REVIEW PROCESS.

The statements made in the articles are the responsibility of the authors. The main language of publication is Spanish. Articles are accepted with the understanding that their essential content has not been and will not be submitted for another publication. Once published, the article becomes the property of the Venezuelan Society of Surgery.

The Venezuelan Journal of Surgery will consider contributions for the following sections and topics: Review articles; Original articles; Special articles; Clinical cases; Surgical techniques, Opinion articles, Letters to the editor.

The Venezuelan Journal of Surgery has been circulating in digital format since 2008, with its first digital volume being 61(3) according to the numbering corresponding to the printed version.
