It also welcomes researchers from other institutions outside its borders.

VISION

To be the international reference for publications of scientific productions at the educational level, in its different levels in Latin America and the Caribbean, with high standards of quality and methodological rigor.

OBJECTIVES

The objective of the Scientific Journal, is to disseminate scientific and technological knowledge through original results, products of scientific research, which represent a contribution to the development of science and technology. It includes works, products of scientific research, and theoretical reflections that, due to their relevance, deserve to be published, thus contributing to making intellectual production visible in the areas of education and social sciences.

SCOPE

The Scientific Journal is aimed at researchers, teachers, students, and the academic audience at its different levels (Initial, Basic, University), as well as the scientific community in general and other people involved in the educational process.

In order to maintain the quality of the publication and its impartiality and ethics, the articles or essays received are evaluated by two external reviewers (peer-review) considered experts in the subject by the Scientific Journal: multidisciplinary peer-reviewed journal of socio-educational research, which accredits as such those selected collaborators, with a double-blind review (author/s-reviewers). In case of discrepancy, a third evaluation will be requested, also in a double-blind process and following the journal's publication standards. The reviewers will act under the criteria of competence, confidentiality, impartiality and honesty, diligence, respect, and courtesy.

GENERAL PUBLICATION GUIDELINES

Guidelines for authors

The Editorial Academic Committee of the Scientific Journal has established the following guidelines for articles that will be submitted for peer review for publication.

The journal accepts reviewing scientific articles related to the focus and scope of the journal.

Go to Registration

*Registration and login are required to submit articles online and to check the status of current submissions.

Research Section

  • Submitted works must be original and unpublished scientific research articles, results or advances of a research process or a deep theoretical reflection that constitutes a significant contribution to the development of knowledge in the humanistic, educational, managerial, and technological areas.
  • Additionally, the last section of the journal is intended for the publication of contributions and essays on topics related to the academic or social area.

Length, format, and structure

  • The article/essay will have a minimum length of ten (10) and a maximum of twenty (20) written pages, including notes, tables, and references.
  • When support of graphs, tables, charts, photos, or maps, not exceeding two, is required, the author must send it via the internet to the email address mentioned above (without importing them from Word; graphs, tables, and charts in the original format and photos or maps in *.PNG or *.JPG format, maintaining the document structure) and indicating the place and page where they will be placed, or if they will be included as an appendix or annex of the article. In any case, they must be of sufficient quality and legible to allow optimal reproduction.

Aspects that the article must contain

  • Abstract: The works will include an abstract in Spanish and English (abstract), of an informative type, where the studied problem, the objective, the methods used, and the main results and conclusions are presented, with a length not exceeding (200) words and in a single paragraph single-spaced. Below both abstracts and in the respective language, no fewer than three descriptors (03) or keywords and a maximum of (5) keywords of the article/essay must be indicated (using the terms from the UNESCO Thesaurus by area of knowledge).

*The Abstract must be a coherent translation, not the product of an internet translator.

  • Introduction: It should contain a clear and simple statement of the problem, previous references to its approach, possible questions and assumptions that guided the work, objective, and the approach used by the author.
  • Body (theory and concepts, methodology, analysis of results, and discussion): This section describes how the work was done. The activities, materials, and procedures used or performed are incorporated into the narration as the procedure followed is explained. In general, the sequence for presenting the details could be: definition of the methodology, object and subject of study, procedure, and way of collecting and analyzing the results.
  • Conclusions: Here the author extracts and formulates the conclusions reached in the discussion with precision, but without exposing the reasons that allowed them to reach them. If the work allows, recommendations can be made. By reading this section, anyone can quickly learn the findings obtained during the research. This section can be written separately or incorporated into the discussion. Also, according to the author's criteria, it can be omitted.

*Premature conclusions of ongoing work will not be made.

  • References: References should conform to the APA system standards (American Psychological Association), following the guidelines outlined below in general: First surname, Initial of the first Name. (year). Title of the article in bold. City and Country where it was edited: Name of the Publisher, first and last pages, pp. xx-xx. (Links or hyperlinks must work correctly and contain the cited information).

*Every article must have Introduction, Methodology, Results, Conclusions, and References.

*Every essay must have Introduction, Development, Conclusions, and References.

*Paragraph: Articles or essays that do not meet the Criteria for assessing the percentage of content similarity and have (40%) or more similarity compared to other documents will be subject to immediate cancellation.

  • Accepted contributions will be subject to style and content correction, and their publication will be subject to the availability of space in each issue. The submission of any contribution to the journal implies not only acceptance of what is established in this document but also authorization from the Editorial Academic Committee of the Revista Scientific to include it on its electronic page.
  • Proposed texts that comply with the above guidelines will be submitted for review or arbitration to two external reviewers or arbitrators, using the double-blind system: the reviewer will not know the identity of the author and vice versa.
  • Accepted works with observations will be returned to their authors, who must incorporate the indicated modifications, which will be verified by the Editorial Committee.
  • Each author(s) will receive a PDF copy of the issue of the journal in which their article or essay is published, along with the Certificate of Publication.
  • Articles that receive a favorable review may be scheduled for their next publication once the Acceptance and Publication Letter is issued (The presentation must comply with the phases indicated in the Editing and Publication Process: 1. Submission queue; 2. Submission review; 3. Submission editing; 4. Issue management; and 5. Publication).

Review Criteria

  • Reviewers will be international researchers and academics with Master's or Doctorate degrees, of recognized prestige whose lines of work coincide with the topic addressed in each text. The anonymity of reviewers and authors is maintained at all times.
  • It is guaranteed that the reviewers have no relationship with the author or the institution to which they belong.

The evaluation criteria suggested to the reviewers will be as follows:

  • Attention to content. Consider the originality, rigor, interest, and relevance of the approaches, with a maximum of (5) years of the documents used, as well as their relevance to the field of education.
  • Attention to the general structure of the work. The presentation should be done with a coherent logic that achieves its analytical cohesion.
  • Attention to writing. Expository quality, care in writing and spelling.

The final review may be:

  1. Publishable with substantial corrections. In this case, the author will be informed of the deep modifications that must be made to the work to be published in the journal. The author(s) will have a period of 7 days, counted from the date of return, to present the corrected version of their text, which will be sent again to the reviewers to determine the relevance of the new version.
  2. Publishable with revision. In this case, the author(s) will be informed if the work needs minor modifications, which will be indicated precisely. The author will have a period of 7 days, counted from the date of return, to present the corrected version of their text, which will be sent again to the reviewers to determine the relevance of the new version.
  3. Publishable without objections. The text will automatically be scheduled for publication in the journal.
  4. Not publishable. Here the reviewer will clearly state the reasons why they consider that the text cannot be published.

Articles or essays considered NOT PUBLISHABLE by the Editorial Academic Committee or, if applicable, the highest authority of the requesting area of the Revista Scientific, will not make adjustments or agreements of any kind.

*The reviewers' decision is final.

Estimated Publication Time

*The time between the receipt of the article and the first response from the reviewers is one (1) month to two (2) months; and the time between receipt and the estimated time for publication is three (3) months to six (6) months. Once the article is finally accepted, a letter of acceptance of the article is sent to the authors with the date on which it will be published.
