Caracas.
Background: It was considered necessary to assess whether the advent of new brands of clopidogrel increased coronary thrombosis post stent in the Hospital “Dr. Miguel Pérez Carreño”. Methods: The frequencies of thrombosis in patients with stent implanted were determined before and after the market from to clopidogrel different brands to Plavix® were launched. Were reviewed Histories of 100 patients undergoing coronary revascularization procedures with stent placement, from 2002 to 2010, 75 entered the analyzes. They were divided into two groups, patients whose stents were placed before it in 2006, after 2006, since the leading brands of clopidogrel seconds left to the Venezuelan market in November 2006. Results: Prior to 2006, 90.32% of patients were discharged with clopidogrel indication; all cases were the only existing trademark, Plavix®. Beginning in 2007, showed that approximately 86% of patients were noted with clopidogrel therapy of these, 97% were indicated Plavix® and about 3% graduated with an indication of Cravid®. In 2006 or earlier, there were 13% of thrombotic events in patients receiving Plavix®; after 2006 this was 15.9%, this difference was not statistically significativa. El odds ratio was 0.39, indicating the same relation to the RR . Conclusions: There was no increase in the number of coronary thrombosis after the onset of secondary brands of clopidogrel in the Venezuelan market.
Background: Hyperlipidemia is a common condition that promotes atherosclerosis development. Triglycerides are being considered a very important factor. n-3 fatty acids lower triglycerides and have been associated with lower risk of sudden death in patients with myocardial infarction and could be effective in patients without evidence of prior cardiovascular disease. Methods: We performed a prospective, open, multicenter, pharmacovigilance study, to evaluate Omacor® effectiveness in reducing triglyceride levels. After four weeks with patients underwent diet, we made lipid profile in fasting, measuring triglycerides, total cholesterol, LDL-C, VLDL-C, HDL-C, Non- HDL-C and glucose, AST and ALT. Patient who continued triglycerides above 150 mg/dL were passed to next phase of study with Omacor®, 1 gr orally, BID for 6 weeks. Results: 185 patients were analyzed by ITT. Treatment with Omacor® reported a significant decrease in weight, BMI, DBP and SBP (p<0.001). In this study, the effect of treatment significantly reduced all lipid variables studied (CT, HTG, LDL-C, non-HDL-C; p<0.001) with an increase in HDL-C (p 0.002). HTG was reduced by 33% (p<0.001) and non-HDL-C 14% (p<0.001). After treatment, 59.77% achieved with diet plus Omacor® the target of TG<150mg/dL compared with the 4.47% only diet. Conclusions: The administration of Omacor® for six weeks in patients with HTG was safe, with a significant decrease in all lipid and glycemic variables. Plan for REMODULIN® active pharmacovigilance (TREPROSTINIL) http://ve.scielo.org/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&pid=S0798-02642014000100004&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en Antecedentes: La Hipertensión Arterial Pulmonar (HAP) es un padecimiento grave.
