This research project analyzes the right to education as a fundamental human right according to the concept of a Social State of Rights and Justice, foreseen in the 1999 Constitutional Text. Likewise, using the comparative method, the substantial changes in the same with regard to the 1961 Constitution are analyzed, at the same time indicating that during the research, the absence of a legislative framework that updates and develops them was observed. Finally, the plans and/or programs implemented since the Constitution of the Republic of Venezuela went into effect and that are consecrated to developing and guaranteeing its exercise by the current government are analyzed. Conclusions are that the current Constitution is very novel, broader and establishes more concrete means for true development of the right to education, where the participation of society, the family and the State plays a fundamental leading role.
Has objectivity died? Reference to the object/subject relationship in science leads to a reflection on constructivism, its philosophical and psychological bases, as well as to an attempt at a brief cartography of the diverse emphases assumed by what has been termed an epistemology or metatheory of education. Some thoughts are sketched around the paradigm of complexity without pretending to find single answers but rather promoting ideas to facilitate questioning, being aware of the impossibility of reaching a total knowledge of reality.
This article presents a general view of the Venezuelan family. In accord with authors such as Alejandro Moreno and José Luis Verthencourt, it holds that the Venezuelan family is ‘matricentric.’ The article also explains some of the historical reasons why the Venezuelan family takes this peculiar structure. It concludes that the matricentric family model will continue to exist in Venezuela and the best way to cope with this reality is by offering women wider spaces for social participation, thus breaking the vicious circle between poverty and the matricentric family.
This paper presents a panoramic vision of the practical operations carried out by the participative mechanism for assigning FIDES community funds, by studying the experience developed in the Mara Municipality of Zulia, from 2001 to 2005. Methodology used was a logical framework focus, with the help of social research techniques. Conclusions were that use of this mechanism evidenced a deficit in the participative process; therefore, it is recommended that actions be taken to create minimal conditions for propitiating equal opportunities of access to these resources, generating thereby effective participation of neighbours in directing expenses toward social investment. Inteligencia intuitiva de Malcolm Gladwell http://ve.scielo.org/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&pid=S1315-62682007000200007&lng=es&nrm=iso&tlng=es En el libro Blink. Inteligencia Intuitiva.
In his book Blink. The Power of Thinking without Thinking, the author, Malcolm Gladwell, using the latest knowledge in the fields of psychology and neurology and a fresh and entertaining style, answers questions such as: Why are some people brilliant at making decisions and others are not? Why do some follow their instincts and succeed while others always end up taking false steps? What is the real brain process involved in performance at work (be it operating room, court of law or symphony orchestra), at school, in the kitchen or in bed? Intuitive Intelligence reveals that those who are good at making decisions are not those who process more information or dedicate more time to deliberations, but those who have perfected the craft of making fine connections, of extracting a few factors that are really important from a web of variables in only a fraction of a second. This is what Gladwell calls, echoing psychologist T. Wilson, calling on our adaptive unconscious.
