Abstract

PAZ PENAGOS, Hernán. Comparative Analysis of Problem-solving Didactical Trends in Engineering. Argos [online]. 2012, vol.29, n.57, pp.126-149. ISSN 0254-1637.

The faculties of engineering in Colombia have been working for several years at projects of curricula intervention with the purpose of update plans and study programs; however, this task by itself doesn’t give solution to the problem of how to teach. Diverse teaching alternatives have begun to make road in education in engineering: methodologies IE: “heads-on” and “hands-on” (Hake, 1998), intensive pedagogies, active learning (Kieren, 1969), problem solving, etc. This research work arose as a concern to look for the theoretical concretion of recent didactic proposals based in problem solving, that are presented as alternative solutions to the problem of teaching and learning in engineering; the article shows the results of a comparative analysis, obtained by means of the application of contents analysis proposed by Berelson (1952).

Keywords : compared analysis; didactic tendencies; problem-solving in engineering.
