Resumen

Voltage fluctuation is the first cause of the flicker light effect. Some definitions and standards have been proposed to measure the grade of the flicker. One of the most important standards is the IEC-61000-4-15 that described a flickermeter of five blocks. In the last decade the wavelet transform (WT) has been implemented in many issues on power electric systems. The applications have focused on the classification of the disturbances in measurement on power quality. In this paper the implementation of the weighting filters of the flickermeter of the standard IEC-61000-4-15 is explained either through the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) or Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT). Furthermore, a comparative analysis of the flicker instantaneous values is done with both techniques. In both analyses, negligible differences were found
