Abstract

FERMIN, Marlene. Training challenges for the preschool teacher: Attention to diversity. Revista de Investigación [online]. 2007, vol.31, n.62, pp.071-092. ISSN 1010-2914.

The aim of this article is to show a bibliographical review that would aid as a foundation to teacher’s training programs, which should be restructured to answer to new challenges on children’s care. I will start with the current preschool teacher’s training; the teacher we want and need: infant’s teachers and awareness to diversity, meaning handicapped children; and at home and international legal baselines, which guaranteed the educational inclusion. Among the conclusions arisen from careful thought, we realize that, in our training institution, it is necessary to implement important changes, consideration to attention to diversity as a main axis to the curriculum, also such training should be included in the development and establishment of policies of inclusion and attention to diversity.
