Abstract

TOLEDO, Marlene  and  CAMERO, Rosa Elena. Preliminaries results of application of a simulation-game (modified): Intracellular Journey. Revista de Investigación [online]. 2010, vol.34, n.71, pp.169-186. ISSN 1010-2914.

The article relates to the modified version of the Simulation-Game “Intracellular Journey”, developed to facilitate the process of learning with the STS (Science, Technology and Society) approach. This simulation includes two phases: the first to construct a sequence of the events of incorporation of the proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum. The second one is a journey on a board of sixty (60) tables through the organelles involved in the processing of three types of protein; some tables provide a question mark (?) about situations related to the content, lysosomal storage diseases and their treatments. The validation is performed through a survey applied to students of Cell Biology of the IPC-UPEL between the periods 2003-I and 2008-I. The results show percentages of acceptance of 86.78%. In addition, students have done reflections, which show through the content analysis, that the strategy creates on the students a positive animic behavior suggesting the use of this strategy to other content
