Abstract

RUIZ BOLIVAR, Carlos. THE HIGHER EDUCATION TEACHER ATTITUDE TOWARD ICT EDUCATIONAL USE: CONCEPTUALIZATION AND MEASUREMENT. Paradígma [online]. 2012, vol.33, n.2, pp.007-026. ISSN 1011-2251.

The purpose of this study was to design and develop an instrument psychometrically valid and reliable to measure the higher education teacher attitude toward the educative use of the information and communication technologies (ICT). An accessible sample of n = 208 teachers was utilized. They came from tree universities placed in Barquisimeto city (Venezuela). The initial scale extension was of 60 items presented in a Likert (1932) method. A classical procedure for the validation for scale construction based on Factor Analysis techniques was used. The scale final version was of 24 items, having content and construct validity and a reliability coefficient of r = 0, 91. There is concluded that this scale satisfied the psychometrics characteristic of validity and reliability required to measure the construct assumed.
