Abstract

Th is article proposes an alternative route to understand Latin American contemporary art, using as a point of departure the work of Simón Rodríguez, highlighting some aspects of his life, which provide a view of epistemic formalized by the contributions of his thinking in the field of the arts. Looking at it as well as educator, as a precursor of social art, conceptualism and visual poetry and highlights their contributions to phenomenology of reading. Research within the interpretive naturalist paradigm, hermeneuticamente explores a variety of sources: documentary, experiential, testimonials from the working field, and participant observation. It favors the approach of symbolic interactionism, to resize the facts of the past, through a reading of the present events. Applied techniques of information saturation, and categorization of the grounded theory. It assumes the artistic praxis as Didactics of a pedagogy that seeks to reach the knowledge, through sensitivity education, evidencing the relationship art, education and aesthetics of reception. Th is vision aims to contribute to the epistemology of the arts and education.
