About two hundred years ago, they were practiced the first interventions of the palate, which failed for the bloody dissections and the little irrigation of the torn pieces that caused scars with big retractions. With spending of the years, famous surgeons with their studies and techniques helped to form the methodology used at the present time. A compilation and comments of methods used in the surgical treatment of the cleft palate is presented.
