The electric systems of power have as main function, to give the consumers the electric power in reliable form. Presently work is determined the structural dependability of a substation electric 115/13,8 kV and on the base of this they are generated political of maintenance for the improvement of the quality of service from the point of view of continuity of electric service, for this determination of the dependability mathematical-statistical methods were used, based on the registrations of flaws of the system, for which you uses the program statistical statgraphics bonus 5.1, with that which you/they were carried out the analyses of Weibull and the histograms and adjustment test were generated, with these values you determines the dependability of the system and you model in blocks of dependability. The study of the dependability allows to carry out activities focused to improve it and consequently to maintain the continuity of service, what rebounds in more revenues for sale to the company distribute, creation of new employment source, bigger wellbeing of life and civic security, apart from evaluating new methodologies of determination of the dependability. It is important to have clear the concepts of dependability and maintenance. To carry out the study the concepts and methodologies of the maintenance engineering they were applied. He/she was low values of dependability of the system what justifies the maintenance recommendations generated to improve it
