The article presents several reflections on domestic violence, highlighting its recognition as a problem affecting families since the 1980s. Its objective is to review the legal regulation of this phenomenon through the analysis of various legal and doctrinal sources in order to identify the main postulates that currently protect the rights of the members of the nuclear family. The analysis focuses on the main legal norms and protection policies derived from the Constitution, the Organic Comprehensive Criminal Code, and the Organic Law for the Prevention and Eradication of Violence against Women. The study employed methods commonly used in legal research, including historical-logical analysis, systemic methodology, hermeneutic methods, and bibliographic analysis, which facilitated a thorough evaluation of the legal framework.
