| | | | | | · The paper in the above title constitutes the study and research conducted on the development of calculation methods and theories generally accepted or frequently used in the construction of buildings in the geographical area indicated in the name of the paper, from the beginnings of structural calculation to the present day. Reference is made to the rectangular compression block and to the moment of peak compression method as simplifications in the calculation of sections of structural components. The development and evolution of classical and plastic theory are also studied, and a comparative evaluation is made of each method, highlighting their advantages and disadvantages. Also presented is the development achieved over the last decades in the field of seismic analysis. Comments are included on the influence of methods for analysing structures to determine safety factors, since the reliability of the results depends on the accuracy of the method. Conclusions derived from the stability of the oldest or most primitive construction are presented, from the point of view of structural analysis methods, calculation methods based on classical and plastic theories as well as seismic experiences, taking safety factors or guarantees as the reference.
