Métodos: Se realizó una revisión sistemática de artículos científicos publicado a partir del año 2020 hasta la actualidad, utilizando las principales plataformas y bases de datos Medline, via PubMed, SciELO, Google Académico y Cochrane Plus, buscando artículos con información primaria.  Resultados: Luego de la selección de los artículos encontrados en las bases de datos, se extrajeron 26 para su inclusión en esta revisión. Se agrupan los artículos según información correspondiente a influencia hormonal durante el embarazo, cambios endocrinológicos durante el parto y modificaciones endocrinas durante el puerperio.  Conclusión: La homeostasis endocrina es un factor fundamental para un embarazo exitoso y su resultado favorable, siendo la unidad fetoplacentaria quien desempeña un papel crucial en la mediación de la adaptación fisiológica materna al embarazo.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[SUMMARY  Objective: To review the hormonal mechanisms that control pregnancy, from the implantation process to the postpartum period. Methods: A systematic review of scientific articles published from 2020 to the present was conducted, using the main platforms and databases Medline via PubMed, SciELO, Google Scholar and Cochrane Plus, searching for articles with primary information. Results: After selecting the articles found in the databases, 26 were extracted for inclusion in this review. The articles are grouped according to information corresponding to hormonal influence during pregnancy, endocrinological changes during delivery and endocrine modifications during the postpartum period.  Conclusion: Endocrine homeostasis is a fundamental factor for a successful pregnancy and its favorable outcome, being the fetoplacental unit who plays a crucial role in mediation of maternal physiological adaptation to pregnancy.]]></p></abstract>
