Four main groups of bacteria coexist in the process, being the most important the methanogenics, one which has their natural origin in the stomach of the rumiants. The aim of this study was to take a microbial from cow to treat a wine distillery wastewater to search whiter degradation of organic matter expressed like COD and generation of biogas. The results demonstrated capacity of degradation of the substrate, decreasing more than half the initial organic content (56,7 ± 0,8%). On the other hand, the volume of biogas generated by the system at first hours of reaction, were crucial on biodigestion process. Finally, the ratio between biogas and COD indicated that 971,2 ± 1,4 mL of biogas was generated per each gram of COD, which such removal a mean an acceptable biodegradation of the wineyard waste]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[El proceso digestivo anaerobio es un proceso biológico natural en el que parte de una comunidad entrelazada de bacterias cooperan para lograr una fermentación estable y autorregulada, transformando la materia orgánica residual en biogás. En el proceso coexisten cuatro grupos principales de bacterias, siendo las más relevantes las metanogénicas, las cuales tienen como un medio habitual el estómago de los rumiantes. En este estudio se empleó una comunidad microbiana proveniente del rumen vacuno para investigar la factibilidad de su empleo en la depuración del agua del proceso vinazas provenientes de una destilería, mediante la degradación de la materia orgánica expresada como DQO y la generación de biogás. Los resultados muestran una capacidad de degradación del sustrato, disminuyendo en más de la mitad el contenido orgánico inicial (56,7 ± 0,8%). Por otro lado, el volumen de biogás generado por el sistema sugiere que las primeras horas de reacción son cruciales para el proceso digestivo. Finalmente, la relación entre el biogás y la DQO indica que por cada gramo de DQO disminuido se generan 971,2 ± 1,4 mL de biogás, lo cual representa una muy aceptable degradación del agua del procesos de las vinazas]]></p></abstract>

Por esto,  se recurre a an&#225;lisis representativos y mediciones suficientemente v&#225;lidas  como para fijar una base de partida s&#243;lida que permita dar una fiabilidad  a los c&#225;lculos de las Estaciones Depuradoras de Aguas Residuales (EDAR)  [1].&nbsp; </FONT></P>     <P ALIGN="justify" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"><FONT COLOR="#1f1a17" size="2" face="Verdana"> Habitualmente la depuraci&#243;n de las aguas residuales representa una carga  econ&#243;mica para la industria, sin que aparentemente genere beneficio alguno.  Ello provoca una fuerte (e incluso excesiva) presi&#243;n por tratar de minimizar  la inversi&#243;n necesaria para la construcci&#243;n de un sistema de EDAR. Sin  embargo, con la aparici&#243;n de las normas <I>ISO</I>, la gesti&#243;n del medio ambiente  ha pasado a ser actualmente un activo en la gesti&#243;n empresarial y de imagen  corporativa.&nbsp; </FONT></P>     <P ALIGN="justify" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"><FONT COLOR="#1f1a17" size="2" face="Verdana"> La depuraci&#243;n de las aguas residuales en la industria alimenticia se puede  llevar a cabo mediante el empleo de varios sistemas biol&#243;gicos tanto de  manera aerobia como anaerobia [2]. Tal es el caso de los residuos generados  por la destilaci&#243;n en la industria alcoh&#243;lica caen dentro de esta categor&#237;a  [3], dichos residuos llamados &#147;vinazas&#148;, frecuentemente presentan alta  carga org&#225;nica (DQO = 20-200 g/L), temperaturas relativamente altas de  vertido (50-85&#176;C) y bajo pH (3.5-5.0) [4].&nbsp; </FONT></P>     <P ALIGN="justify" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"><FONT COLOR="#1f1a17" size="2" face="Verdana"> La digesti&#243;n biol&#243;gica anaerobia es el m&#233;todo especialmente preferido para  su tratamiento ya que ofrece varias ventajas adicionales a los m&#233;todos  convencionales aerobios, por ejemplo: bajos consumos de energ&#237;a y peque&#241;as  cantidades de biomasa (bacterias) [3], adem&#225;s de la capacidad de &#233;sta para  transformar parte de la poluci&#243;n en metano, el cual puede ser empleado  como recurso energ&#233;tico en el mismo proceso de destilaci&#243;n [5-7].&nbsp; </FONT></P>     <P ALIGN="justify" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"><FONT COLOR="#1f1a17" size="2" face="Verdana"> Por otro lado debido a su naturaleza estacional, muchas de estas industrias  carecen de comunidades microbianas propios que sean capaces de realizar  la digesti&#243;n anaerobia de manera inmediata, por lo que frecuentemente se  requieren de largos periodos de tiempo incubaci&#243;n y adaptaci&#243;n para el  arranque de una EDAR [8, 9].&nbsp; </FONT></P>     ]]></body>
<body><![CDATA[<P ALIGN="justify" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"><FONT COLOR="#1f1a17" size="2" face="Verdana"> Para evitar los problemas operacionales de las EDAR, se ha propuesto el  empleo de varias clases de microorganismos para llevar a cabo la digesti&#243;n  de este tipo de residuos. As&#237;, existen reportados en la literatura diversos  tipos de comunidades microbianas analizadas con diferente &#233;xito en el proceso;  &#233;stos van desde los lodos activados para tratar aguas municipales [10]  y de la industria papelera hasta los provenientes de la industria textil  [11] entre algunos otros.&nbsp; </FONT></P>     <P ALIGN="justify" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"><FONT COLOR="#1f1a17" size="2" face="Verdana"> En este mismo contexto, se tiene que las comunidades microbianas provenientes  de varios animales dom&#233;sticos como la vaca, el cerdo, la cabra e incluso  el pollo, han sido empleados en los pa&#237;ses en desarrollo para tratar de  resolver los problemas energ&#233;ticos [12] ya que al fermentar de manera anaerobia  estos microorganismos generan biog&#225;s, compuesto principalmente por metano.  No obstante a lo anterior, la literatura no reporta el empleo de dichas  comunidades microbianas en el tratamiento de aguas residuales derivadas  del proceso de vinazas, aun a pesar de reconocer que en muchos casos, la  digesti&#243;n se puede llevar a cabo de forma completa y eficiente [11, 12].&nbsp; </FONT></P>     <P ALIGN="justify" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"><FONT COLOR="#1f1a17" size="2" face="Verdana"> Debido a que en el est&#243;mago de los rumiantes, los microorganismos existentes  en el fluido ruminal tienen una relaci&#243;n simbi&#243;tica que le facilita la  digesti&#243;n de la fibra al animal, la ecolog&#237;a microbial se ve fuertemente  afectada por su dieta diaria as&#237; como por los complementos alimenticios  y los medicamentos suministrados; lo cual dificulta enormemente la caracterizaci&#243;n  filogen&#233;tica del consorcio microbiano, ocasionando con esto que la taxonom&#237;a  del sistema microbiol&#243;gico sea continuamente modificada llegando incluso  a desconocerse casi por completo en los reportes previos. CO<SUB>2</SUB> = di&#243;xido  de carbono.&nbsp; </FONT></P>     <P ALIGN="justify" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"><FONT COLOR="#1f1a17" size="2" face="Verdana"> Por todo lo anterior, en este estudio se analiz&#243; el desempe&#241;o de un reactor  biol&#243;gico por cargas en el rango mesof&#237;lico de temperatura, el cual emplea  una comunidad microbiana metanog&#233;nica proveniente del rumen de vaca para  la degradaci&#243;n de las vinazas de vino producidas por la industria alcoholera  del ron.&nbsp; </FONT></P>     <P ALIGN="justify" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"> <B><FONT COLOR="#1f1a17" size="2" face="Verdana"> Parte experimental&nbsp; </FONT></B> </P>     <P ALIGN="justify" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"> <B><FONT COLOR="#1f1a17" size="2" face="Verdana"> Efluente contaminante&nbsp; </FONT></B> </P>     <P ALIGN="justify" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"><FONT COLOR="#1f1a17" size="2" face="Verdana"> Las vinazas de vino, utilizadas en esta investigaci&#243;n fueron recolectadas  de una destiladora ubicada en el municipio de Actopan en el estado de Veracruz,  M&#233;xico, la cual utiliza generalmente jugo natural de ca&#241;a como materia  prima para producir alcohol; sin embargo por cosecharse la ca&#241;a de manera  estacional, eventualmente se emplea jugo cristalizado de ca&#241;a. El vertido  contaminante de siete muestras colectadas se caracteriz&#243; como se propone  en la literatura [7]; se les determin&#243; pH, temperatura, demanda qu&#237;mica  y bioqu&#237;mica de ox&#237;geno (DQO y </FONT><font face="Verdana" size="2"> DBO<sub>5</sub>), s&#243;lidos totales y vol&#225;tiles, f&#243;sforo  y nitr&#243;geno total y fenoles, caracteriz&#225;ndose un total de siete muestras  de vinazas. Se pudo verificar que las propiedades del fluido cambian de  acuerdo a como lo hacen los insumos empleados.&nbsp;</font></P>     <P ALIGN="justify" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"> <B><FONT COLOR="#1f1a17" size="2" face="Verdana"> In&#243;culo&nbsp; </FONT></B> </P>     <P ALIGN="justify" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"><FONT COLOR="#1f1a17" size="2" face="Verdana"> El cultivo primario de bacterias empleadas en este estudio se obtuvo del  rumen de vaca, colectado en el matadero municipal de Jalapa, Estado de  Veracruz, M&#233;xico y previamente filtrado a trav&#233;s de membrana de 0,22 micras  y centrifugada a 2000 rpm por 10 minutos. El fluido ruminal tiene un h&#225;bitat  primordialmente anaerobio, y ya que las bacterias metanog&#233;nicas son el  paso controlante de la cin&#233;tica de crecimiento microbiano de dicha comunidad  microbiana [11], en este estudio se dej&#243; fermentar al fluido por s&#237; s&#243;lo  por un lapso de 63 d&#237;as a temperatura ambiente (25&#176;C), para identificar  el inicio de dicha etapa.&nbsp; </FONT></P>     <P ALIGN="justify" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"> <B><FONT COLOR="#1f1a17" size="2" face="Verdana"> Reactor anaerobio&nbsp; </FONT></B> </P>     <P ALIGN="justify" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"><FONT COLOR="#1f1a17" size="2" face="Verdana"> En este estudio se propuso analizar el comportamiento digestivo natural  del fluido ruminal sin substrato, siguiendo el desarrollo microbiano mediante  la cuantificaci&#243;n del volumen de biog&#225;s generado para identificar as&#237; la  fase metanog&#233;nica del in&#243;culo. Para lo anterior, se introduce en el digestor  anaerobio 2,5 L de fluido ruminal diluido al 40% con agua destilada dejando  fermentar al sistema en un reactor a 25 &#177; 2&#176;C por 63 d&#237;as consecutivos  mezclando constantemente para homogenizar el medio.&nbsp; </FONT></P>     <P ALIGN="justify" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"><FONT COLOR="#1f1a17" size="2" face="Verdana"> La oxidaci&#243;n anaerobia se llev&#243; a cabo en un digestor de vidrio de 4 L  con agitaci&#243;n, el cual fue operado por cargas a una temperatura de 25 &#177;  2&#176;C y mezclado a 150 &#177; 2 rpm tal y como se muestra en la <a href="#fig1"> Figura 1</a>. Para  iniciar la digesti&#243;n con c&#233;lulas libres, se colocaron 2,5 L de vinaza neutralizada  y diluida al 30% en volumen junto con 0,5 L de in&#243;culo metanog&#233;nico para  iniciar la adaptaci&#243;n. Posteriormente se increment&#243; paulatinamente la concentraci&#243;n  de vinaza hasta llegar a las caracter&#237;sticas de operaci&#243;n de la destiladora  en el mismo lapso de tiempo que toma al in&#243;culo llegar a las condiciones  metanog&#233;nicas.&nbsp; </FONT></P>     ]]></body>

<body><![CDATA[<P ALIGN="LEFT"><font color="#1f1a17" face="Verdana" size="2"> *Entre par&#233;ntesis las desviaciones est&#225;ndar (n = 7).&nbsp;</font></P>     <P ALIGN="justify" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"><FONT COLOR="#1f1a17" size="2" face="Verdana"> Los autores [3] resumen varios de los mecanismos propuestos en la literatura  a trav&#233;s de los cuales se puede describir correctamente la oxidaci&#243;n de  la materia org&#225;nica empleando una comunidad microbiana. Afirman que la  mayor&#237;a de los autores coinciden en que existen por lo menos cuatro etapas  bien definidas de reacci&#243;n de acuerdo con los microorganismos presentes  en el sistema los cuales son: 1) hidr&#243;lisis, 2) acidog&#233;nesis, 3) acetog&#233;nesis  y 4) metanog&#233;nesis; d&#225;ndole a esta &#250;ltima etapa la mayor relevancia por  ser la m&#225;s prolongada en el tiempo y donde ocurren los cambios m&#225;s significativos  de transformaci&#243;n.&nbsp; </FONT></P>     <P ALIGN="justify" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"><FONT COLOR="#1f1a17" size="2" face="Verdana"> Los resultados obtenidos en el comportamiento digestivo natural del fluido  ruminal sin sustrato y que pueden ser observados en la <a href="#fig2"> Figura 2</a>, sugieren  la existencia de varias etapas presentes, seg&#250;n lo se&#241;ala Carrillo [16],  en el transcurso de la reacci&#243;n. Aqu&#237; el volumen de biog&#225;s generado se  ve incrementado notablemente en la fase acetog&#233;nica (aproximadamente de  20-25 d&#237;as); sin embargo es en la etapa metanog&#233;nica (aproximadamente de  30-40 d&#237;as) donde la cantidad de volumen generado lleg&#243; a incrementarse  hasta en un 48,38 &#177; 1.2% m&#225;s que la fase anterior, lo que se corresponde  con lo reportado por Gavala y colaboradores[3].</FONT></P>     <P ALIGN="center" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"><a name="fig2"><img border="0" src="/img/fbpe/rtfiuz/v30n2/art03fig2.gif" width="541" height="332"></a></P>     
<P ALIGN="justify" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"><FONT COLOR="#1f1a17" size="2" face="Verdana"> A partir de estos resultados, se propone iniciar la reacci&#243;n fermentativa  del vertido contaminante despu&#233;s del d&#237;a 21 ya que de acuerdo con el an&#225;lisis  anterior, se estima que es ah&#237; donde se inicia el crecimiento de los microorganismos  metanog&#233;nicos, para efecto de este estudio se consider&#243; el in&#243;culo despu&#233;s  del d&#237;a 21.&nbsp; </FONT></P>     <P ALIGN="justify" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"><FONT COLOR="#1f1a17" size="2" face="Verdana"> Una vez localizada la fase de inter&#233;s del in&#243;culo, se procedi&#243; a iniciar  la digesti&#243;n de la vinaza. Para esto se inocul&#243; nuevamente el sistema de  reacci&#243;n y se adaptaron los microorganismos a las caracter&#237;sticas del vertido,  iniciando el proceso con una concentraci&#243;n del 30% de efluente residual,  diluido en agua destilada e incrementando su concentraci&#243;n en proporciones  semejantes cada 4 d&#237;as, con lo que se alcanzan las propiedades originales  del contaminante en el mismo lapso de tiempo que le toma a la metanog&#233;nesis  aparecer (aproximadamente 21 d&#237;as).&nbsp; </FONT></P>     <P ALIGN="left" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"><FONT COLOR="#1f1a17" size="2" face="Verdana"> Se analiz&#243; la factibilidad del fluido ruminal en los procesos de depuraci&#243;n  de vertidos; la degradaci&#243;n del efluente se realiz&#243; una vez obtenidas las  condiciones adecuadas del in&#243;culo (21 d&#237;as, a DQO &lt; 50 mg/L). Posteriormente  se hizo la cuantificaci&#243;n de la biodegradaci&#243;n de la materia org&#225;nica mediante  la variaci&#243;n de la demanda qu&#237;mica de ox&#237;geno (DQO) y el volumen de biog&#225;s  generado como productos de la digesti&#243;n. En estas condiciones la variaci&#243;n  del pH no result&#243; ser significativo (aproximadamente entre 6,5-7,5) lo  que sugiere una estabilidad del proceso. Los resultados obtenidos para  el cambio de la DQO se pueden observar en la <a href="#fig3"> Figura 3</a>.&nbsp; </FONT></P>     <P ALIGN="center" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"><a name="fig3"><img border="0" src="/img/fbpe/rtfiuz/v30n2/art03fig3.gif" width="435" height="435"></a></P>     
<P ALIGN="justify" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"><FONT COLOR="#1f1a17" size="2" face="Verdana"> El cambio total en la DQO fue del 56,77 &#177; 1,4% en 21 d&#237;as. Es interesante  observar que el sistema present&#243; un per&#237;odo entre los d&#237;as 8-11 donde los  cambios en la DQO fueron importantes, destacando que el mayor de ellos  se obtuvo en el d&#237;a 11 (7,45 &#177; 0,9%), seg&#250;n se aprecia en la<a href="#fig3"> Figura 3</a>.  Dicha disminuci&#243;n tan pronunciada se obtuvo tambi&#233;n en las primeras 24  horas de iniciada la digesti&#243;n (6,6 &#177; 0,8%), lo que sugiere una buena respuesta  del in&#243;culo frente al substrato, ya que responde a la remoci&#243;n de la DQO  en valores superiores al 5% en cada d&#237;a (ver<a href="#fig3"> Figura 3</a>). Por otro lado,  el comportamiento en la generaci&#243;n de biog&#225;s se muestra en la <a href="#fig4"> Figura 4</a>.&nbsp; </FONT></P>     <P ALIGN="center" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"><a name="fig4"><img border="0" src="/img/fbpe/rtfiuz/v30n2/art03fig4.gif" width="438" height="439"></a></P>

<body><![CDATA[<P ALIGN="justify" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"><FONT COLOR="#1f1a17" size="2" face="Verdana"> Para evitar la presurizaci&#243;n del sistema, el gas generado fue medido y  extra&#237;do diariamente. Aqu&#237; no debe sorprender el hecho de que la mayor  cantidad de gas generado se present&#243; exactamente los mismos d&#237;as importantes  en los cambios de la DQO, los d&#237;as 1 y 11. En las primeras 24 horas se  generaron 200 mL de gas y el d&#237;a 11 aport&#243; otros 225 mL, mucho m&#225;s que  la medici&#243;n anterior, con esto se comprob&#243; que el contenido del birreactor  se encontraba en la fase metanog&#233;nica.&nbsp; </FONT></P>     <P ALIGN="justify" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"><FONT COLOR="#1f1a17" size="2" face="Verdana"> Las primeras 24 horas de digesti&#243;n influyen considerablemente en el proceso  global de reacci&#243;n, ya que es ah&#237; donde los cambios son m&#225;s dr&#225;sticos y  se requiere de por lo menos 10 d&#237;as m&#225;s de digesti&#243;n para que se presenten  influencias igualmente de significativas.&nbsp; </FONT></P>     <P ALIGN="justify" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"><FONT COLOR="#1f1a17" size="2" face="Verdana"> Al final, la cantidad acumulada total del biog&#225;s generado fue de 19.180  litros (suma de los vol&#250;menes desde el inicio hasta el d&#237;a 21) lo cual  significa que aproximadamente 19.748 g/L de DQO, fueron disminuidos (esta  cantidad se corresponde con el valor en el eje de abcisas en el intercepto  en el eje de ordenadas de la <a href="#fig5"> Figura 5</a>). En la <a href="#fig5"> Figura 5 </a> se puede contrastar  la cantidad de DQO disminuida (en g/L) y el volumen de biog&#225;s generado  por el sistema, mediante regresi&#243;n lineal (</FONT><font face="Verdana" size="2">R<sup>2</sup> = 0,9997). Como resultado  calculado, se encontr&#243; que por cada gramo de DQO disminuido se generan  971.2 &#177; 1.4 mL de biog&#225;s por el sistema. Este valor se obtiene del cociente  volumen total de biog&#225;s generado/DQO disminuida. Este resultado final respalda  favorablemente el hecho de manipular la comunidad microbiana existente  en el fluido ruminal para el tratamiento metanog&#233;nico de vinazas de vino.&nbsp;</font></P>     <P ALIGN="center" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"><a name="fig5"><img border="0" src="/img/fbpe/rtfiuz/v30n2/art03fig5.gif" width="442" height="452"></a></P>     
<P ALIGN="justify" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"><FONT COLOR="#1f1a17" size="2" face="Verdana"> Si comparamos los resultados alcanzados en este proceso con los obtenidos  por P&#233;rez [17], se puede apreciar en la <a href="#fig6"> Figura 6</a> que existe una diferencia  en los porcentajes de la DQO removida y el tiempo en que se alcanzan m&#225;ximas  remociones. La cin&#233;tica obtenida fue de primer orden con un valor para  la constante de 0.046 </FONT><font face="Verdana" size="2"> d&#237;as</font><sup>-1</sup><font face="Verdana" size="2">; por su parte P&#233;rez se&#241;ala una cin&#233;tica igualmente  de primer orden pero con un valor de la constante de 0.098 d&#237;as</font><sup>-1</sup><font face="Verdana" size="2"> [17].  Estos valores de las respectivas constantes se corresponden en una relaci&#243;n  2:1, lo que justifica las diferencias de tiempos en alcanzar m&#225;ximas remociones  de la DQO. Es importante destacar que en la investigaci&#243;n realizada por  P&#233;rez [17], se utilizaron reactores en los que se aplic&#243; la inmovilizaci&#243;n  de los microorganismos sobre soportes inertes siendo esto una alternativa  m&#225;s exitosa, reconocidos como biodigestores de alta velocidad. En los biodigestores  de inmovilizaci&#243;n de la flora microbiana, se evitan las p&#233;rdidas de &#233;sta  por lavado [18]. Comparados con los biodigestores convencionales de biomasa  suspendida y por su elevada capacidad de retenci&#243;n de materia, los biodigestores  con soportes est&#225;n favorecidos en t&#233;rminos de: reducci&#243;n de volumen, incremento  en la actividad microbiana y estabilidad de operaci&#243;n. Por otra parte, la producci&#243;n te&#243;rica de metano (CH<sub>4</sub>) es de 350 mL de CH<sub>4</sub>/g de DQO removida;  de acuerdo con el volumen obtenido de 971,2 mL, se puede asumir que s&#243;lo  el 36% del volumen total es de CH<sub>4</sub>, por lo cual resulta un biog&#225;s muy pobre  en contenido de metano. Esto es indicativo de que los microorganismos metanog&#233;nicos  no est&#225;n trabajando a plena eficiencia y en el gas pueden estar presentes  otros gases como CO<sub>2 </sub> e H<sub>2</sub>. Es sugerente realizar estudios de optimizaci&#243;n  del proceso.&nbsp;</font></P>     <P ALIGN="center" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"><a name="fig6"><img border="0" src="/img/fbpe/rtfiuz/v30n2/art03fig6.gif" width="431" height="460"></a></P>     
<P ALIGN="justify" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"> <B><FONT COLOR="#1f1a17" size="2" face="Verdana"> Conclusiones&nbsp; </FONT></B> </P>     <P ALIGN="justify" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"><FONT COLOR="#1f1a17" size="2" face="Verdana"> Desde hace tiempo se han venido empleando las comunidades microbianas de  diversos animales en la generaci&#243;n de metano, para tratar de resolver los  problemas energ&#233;ticos de los pa&#237;ses en v&#237;as de desarrollo. Sin embargo,  muy pocos son los reportes que incluyen este tipo de sistemas microbiales  para el tratamiento de vertidos contaminantes. Los resultados aqu&#237; obtenidos,  confirman que para llegar a la fase metanog&#233;nica, el fluido ruminal vacuno  se requiere de por lo menos 21 d&#237;as previos de digesti&#243;n. Una vez alcanzado  dicho estado, los microorganismos son capaces de degradar los contaminantes  de las vinazas en m&#225;s de la mitad de su carga org&#225;nica inicial, llegando  a ser de hasta en un 56,77 &#177; 1,4% de la DQO en 21 d&#237;as de digesti&#243;n continua.&nbsp; </FONT></P>     <P ALIGN="justify" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"><FONT COLOR="#1f1a17" size="2" face="Verdana"> El volumen de biog&#225;s generado en la fermentaci&#243;n, confirma nuevamente la  importancia que tienen en el proceso los d&#237;as 1 y 11. En este estudio se  comprueba experimentalmente que las vinazas se pueden reducir en un 57%  en funci&#243;n de la DQO utilizando material microbiano proveniente del ganado  vacuno. Los resultados se pueden extrapolar utiliz&#225;ndose para digerir efluentes  en plantas de tratamiento con aguas residuales dom&#233;sticas.&nbsp; </FONT></P>     <P ALIGN="justify" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%"> <B><FONT COLOR="#1f1a17" size="2" face="Verdana"> Referencias Bibliogr&#225;ficas&nbsp; </FONT></B> </P>     ]]></body>
