Dentro de la metodología, se trabajó un enfoque cuantitativo con diseño descriptivo. Entre las técnicas destacaron la entrevista y la observación directa. La muestra estuvo conformada por 40 estudiantes de Ingeniería del nivel universitario. Como instrumentos se emplearon cuestionarios con preguntas semiabiertas y registros descriptivos. En los resultados se precisaron hallazgos importantes, tales como: acciones intrínsecas del ingeniero, STEAM como parte de las tecnologías de aprendizaje, integración disciplinar en el aprendizaje de la matemática, STEAM con una visión innovadora, STEAM como un enfoque interdisciplinario y constructivo e influencia STEAM en el rendimiento académico. Se pudo concluir entonces que su enfoque interdisciplinario demostró un impacto positivo en la comprensión y aplicación de conceptos matemáticos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The general objective of this research was to analyze the steam methodology and its contribution to mathematical learning. Within the methodology, a quantitative approach with descriptive design was used. The techniques included interviews and direct observation. The sample consisted of 40 engineering students at the university level. Questionnaires with semi-open-ended questions and descriptive records were used as instruments. In the results, important findings were specified, such as: intrinsic actions of the engineer, STEAM as part of learning technologies, disciplinary integration in mathematics learning, STEAM with an innovative vision, STEAM as an interdisciplinary and constructive approach, and STEAM influence on academic performance. It could then be concluded that its interdisciplinary approach demonstrated a positive impact on the understanding and application of mathematical concepts.]]></p></abstract>
