Se examinan estrategias basadas en el Internet de las Cosas (IdC, IoT), sistemas de automatización, y modelos predictivos de energía, con ejemplos de implementación en distintos contextos urbanos de la región. Además, se discuten los beneficios ambientales, sociales y económicos derivados de estas prácticas. El análisis energético, para los casos concretos estudiados, muestra que el enfoque sostenible combina las condiciones bioclimáticas de la región con el empleo general de diversas aproximaciones tecnológicas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This article analyzes emerging technologies and management approaches to reduce energy consumption in smart buildings, focusing on Latin America. Strategies based on the Internet of Things (IoT), automation systems, and predictive energy models are examined, with implementation examples in different regional urban contexts. In addition, the environmental, social, and economic benefits derived from these practices are discussed. The energy analysis, for the specific cases studied, shows that the sustainable approach combines bioclimatic conditions to the region with the general use of various technological approaches.]]></p></abstract>
