Scope and Editorial Policy

2. Mission and Focus

The Aula Virtual Journal aims to promote the dissemination of global knowledge, focusing on the publication and distribution of original and unpublished research products created by researchers in various fields of knowledge.

Its objective is to serve as a scientific communication channel for the national and international academic community.

3. Thematic Coverage

The journal covers a wide range of disciplines, including but not limited to: Technology, Health Sciences, Administrative Sciences, Social Sciences, Legal and Political Sciences, Exact Sciences, and other areas related to the sciences.

4. Target Audience

The journal is aimed at teachers, researchers, independent producers, students, and professionals from different thematic areas, both nationally and internationally.

5. Periodicity

Starting from issue 12 (2024), the journal adopts a continuous publication frequency. Previously, from its founding in 2020 until issue 11 (2024), publication was semiannual, with two issues per year.

6. Types of Accepted Contributions

Original, unpublished works are accepted, provided they are not simultaneously under review by other journals or editorial bodies.

Scientific Articles: Completed research with qualitative or quantitative approaches, or free topics that align with the journal's areas of interest.

Research Advances: Substantial theoretical, epistemological, and/or methodological developments.

Essays: Texts in which the author presents their point of view and personal interpretation, maintaining a critical attitude towards the subject of study.

Book Reviews: Critical evaluations of published literature, such as books or research reports.

Papers or Publications Derived from Events: Contributions published in whole or in part, derived from conferences, seminars, workshops, symposiums, and other scientific events.

Any other type of research aimed at the treatment and deepening of information in the fields of study of the different sciences.

7. Access Policy and Costs

The Aula Virtual Journal is an open access and completely free publication. No charges are applied for submission, processing, publication, or access to content (APC-free model - Article Processing Charges).

8. Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process, in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout. Reviews are conducted by specialists in the relevant field.

9. Publication Formats and Digital Preservation

To maximize visibility and accessibility, the journal is published in multiple formats: PDF, EPUB, and HTML.

Additionally, it uses the OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) protocol to ensure the transfer and preservation of its digital resources.

10. Indexing and Visibility

The Aula Virtual Journal is indexed in numerous national and international databases and indexes, ensuring wide circulation and visibility of published works. The complete list of indexations can be consulted on its official website: www.aulavirtual.web.ve/revista/ojs

Form and Preparation of Manuscripts

Initial Check: The editorial committee, through its editor, will first review the submitted work and verify that it strictly complies with the Publication Standards and Guidelines of the Aula Virtual Journal.

It is important to note that, for the purposes of the deadlines established in the editorial policy of the Aula Virtual Journal, the review of submissions by the editorial committee through its editor will begin once the plagiarism check process is completed.

The review process and issuance of the Publication Letter will take 2 weeks, and publication on the journal's platform will take 30 to 45 days, provided it does not exceed the journal's publication limit.

There is no limit to the number of articles received per month. The publication limit per month for the Aula Virtual Journal is 15 publications.

Upon reviewing the submitted work, the editorial committee through its editor will determine:

  • The work meets the criteria established in the Publication Standards and Guidelines of the Aula Virtual Journal. In this case, it continues with the plagiarism check process.
  • The work does not meet the criteria established in the Publication Standards and Guidelines of the Aula Virtual Journal and the Plagiarism Check Process (see Plagiarism Detection Return Cost). In this case, the work is returned to its authors, and the process starts over.
  • Submission for Review: The work is sent by the editorial committee through its editor for evaluation by reviewers who are specialists in the field, under the double-blind modality.
  • Review Process: After the reviewers, specialists in the field under the double-blind modality, accept the evaluation of the original and unpublished work, they commit to sending the evaluation result within a maximum period of two (2) weeks. This period may be extended according to their concerns and direct request.

For the Aula Virtual Journal, with its objective of promoting the dissemination of scientific knowledge and critical reflective thinking in research, collaboration with the editorial committee, national and international reviewers who are external to its editorial team, advisory board, and publishing institution, is subject to:

The assignment of reviewer referees for a submission will be based on the specialty and competence corresponding to the thematic area of the content to be evaluated.

Reviewer referees must be responsible and:

  • Refrain from evaluating submissions if there is any conflict of interest.
  • Comply with the stipulated evaluation deadlines.
  • Use the provided evaluation formats or criteria.

Submissions received for review must be treated confidentially, as privileged information, and not used for personal benefit. The review of submissions must be conducted objectively. Comments should be made clearly to improve the research.

The Aula Virtual Journal commits to annually publishing the updated list of reviewer referees and, once the evaluation process is completed, issuing the arbitration certificate via email as recognition of their work and judgment, which is fundamental for the acceptance or rejection of the scientific work.

Reviewer referees will not receive any financial compensation for the evaluation process.

Reviewer referees who wish to join the Editorial Team of the Aula Virtual Journal and meet the established requirements must register on the journal's website, complete their profile, submit their curriculum summary, and indicate the topics for which they are applying as reviewers. Once the proposal is reviewed, the editorial committee will communicate the result.
