Mango anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides is a disease of major economic importance to worldwide, both at the field level, where the fungus attacks leaves, brnches, flowers and fruits, as well as in postharvest conditions where it may damage stored fruits and cause of their commercial value. With the purpose of evaluating in vitro the effect of five fungicides on the inhibition of mycelial growth and sporulation of pathogen an experiment was conducted in the Plant Disease Clinic of the Faculty of Agronomy, UCV - Maracay. The method of dilutions in agar plate was used and five fungicides: Benomil (Benlate), Procloraz (Funcloraz), Mancozeb (Dithane M-45), Copper Sulfate (Phyton 27), I Citric extract Free of Nitrogen (Lonlife), in the doses 1, 10, 100, 1.000 ppm. Acetone 95% was used as solvent for the preparation of the concentrations of the products; the control consisted of acetone 95% and distilled sterile water. Every treatment of the fungus was incubated at 26-28 °C for 10 days and the diameter of colonies as well as sporulation were measured. The products that showed highest effectiveness in the percentage of inhibition of growth (PIC) and sporulation were: Procloraz in all its concentrations (PIC of 100% at 100 and 1.000 ppm), Benomil in concentrations of 10, 100 and 1.000 ppm (PIC of 100% at 1.000 ppm), Mancozeb at 100 and 1.000 ppm (PIC of 100% at 1.000 ppm), Copper Sulfate at 1.000 ppm exercised certain control (PIC 62%) and the Extract of Citric Free of Nitrogen didnt control mycelial growth (PIC of 22% to 1.000 ppm) or sporulation in any of its concentrations.
