Resumen

GUTIERREZ CHAPARRO, Juan José. Balance del modelo de la planeación urbana en México: orientaciones teóricas para evaluar experiencias de intervención en América Latina. CDC [online]. 2014, vol.31, n.86, pp.27-48. ISSN 1012-2508.

The urban planning has evolved in response to the observed changes in its object of study strengthen its methodological and conceptual framework, nevertheless, in Mexico the discipline has remained static and the available knowledge is insufficient to explain or attend the observed problems in the contemporary city. Recent theoretical explorations reveal the need to reorient the intervention efforts in a time where the approach of our cities is in crisis. For this reason, the aim of this work, is to propose an alternative theoretical-critical evaluation of the methods and principles of the urban planning in Latin America. To do that, the Mexican experience will be used in laying the groundwork to begin a reflexive process about the relevance of the current model in the region.

Palabras clave : Urban planning; urbanism; planning theory.
