Patients seeking to improve the appearance of their smiles have driven the profession toward challenges in esthetic dentistry. Developing a pleasing smile is an artistic venture. Dentist should refine his perception and allow the development of individual feelings in accordance with objetive criteria. Esthetics is a phenomenon of the intellect that engenders an emotion that connotes which is pleasent or unpleasent. In fact, the positive psycological effects of improving appearance often contribute to a improved self-image and enhanced self esteem. Patients demand a more youthful appearence as an essential element of therapy given the longstanding psychological finding that attractive persons are considered more qualified and reliable.
