Through the understanding and application of several basic artistic elements, it would be easier to achieve a pleasing composition in the smile. Certain basic artistic elements shoud be considered to develop a total dentofacial harmony. Frame and references, perspective and illusion, shape, position and alignament, surface texture, and color are discussed, in this article.
