Observation of biopsy from a male 49 years patient with oral leucoplakia showed alteration of keratinocytes, variation in the number of desmosome and an evident spongiosis. Changes of keratinocytes including an increment of polysomes, presence of pyknotic nucleus and variable nucleolus structure have been related to the malignancy potential of oral leukoplakia lesions.
