A clinical case is reported from a 63-year-old white male patient with a painless left maxillary sinus tumor characterized by verrucous aspect and white plaques. The paranasal sinus CAT scan showed a left maxillary tumor that involved the left etmoidal sinus and pterigomaxilar fossa. The histopathological diagnosis reported a poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma. The treatment was a total maxillectomy and adyuvant radiotherapy. The tumor was examined by light microscopy and the peritumoral tissue by transmission electron microscopy in order to investigate possible ultrastructural alterations.
