Approximately five hundred years ago the surgical treatment of the cleft lip with simple designs in the techniques began, reason why during the scaring was present retraction and deformation of the lip in whistle form the laps of time there were methods done by different surgeons whose designs began to divide the incision in segments appearing, to compensate the retraction. We present a compilation and comments of some of them.
