ORAL MANIFESTATIONS OF PREGNANCY DIABETES MELLITUS The saccharin pregnancy diabetes appears in 2% of pregnancy women, between 24 and 28 weeks of gestation being, mentioned like responsible factors of reduction of the maternal glucose use, are the hormonal changes. The oral manifestations of pregnancy diabetes can vary from salival and dental changes, oral mucous alterations, opportunistic infections, typical breath of diabetes and healing alterations. This work show two cases of female patients of 32 and 31 years old, who go to the Dental Service of the "Maternidad Concepcion Palacios" hospital, referred by the obstetrics service of the same center. These patients were hospitalized. The first patient show septic abortion antecedents; And the second one, show eight moth diabetes pregnancy. The personal antecedents of these patients are: non-controlled diabetes mellitus and obesity. The first patient refered that she had hypertension and oral mycosis. In the second case the patient refers that she is weakness and she has daily migraines. In the first case, the patient emphasizes antecedents of dead mother for diabetes. The external and oral examination of the first patient, showed angular cheilitis, acute pseudomembranous candidiosis and gingival inflammation. The second case, showed facial paralaisys in the right side of her face, upheaval to the speech and positive Bell sign. The oral examination of this patient presented a several periodontal problem. In those cases, the dental treatment was according to the oral necessities and to the medical treatment. This investigation emphasizes the important of the dentist action (diagnoses and treatment ), like a member of the professional health team.
