The Er:YAG Laser, is classified as surgical, solid and infrared laser due to its clinical applications, active medium and wavelength. It is well absorbed by water in tissue and has many advantages and specific applications in a variety of fields into dentistry. This article presents an up to date review of the literature, characteristics, applications and researches on the Er:YAG Laser in Restorative Dentistry.
