Abstract Administration of antifungal agents like topical Amphotericin, is very important in the treatment of Denture Stomatitis induced by Candida. Nevertheless, there are some reports that indicates the presence of Candida, mainly Candida albicans on the palate and dentures of some patients with DS, after several days of treatment with this drug. The purpose of this study was detected C. albicans in patients with D.S., treated with Topic Amphotericin (Vencidin®). The results of this study indicated that C. albicans were found in a high frequency of patients in their dentures after 15 days of treatment with Vencidin® and in a low frequency of patients in samples taken from their palates. These cases reported in the study are important because there could origin changes in the dosage or in the frequency of treatment of DS with Topic Amphotericin, or could implement other treatment modalities in order to eliminate D.S. induced by Candida.
