MONTIEL, Deliamar  y  TOVAR, Vilma. Relacion entre valores Inmunológicos, indices bucales e inserción social del paciente con Vih-Sida: Servicio de atención a pacientes con enfermedades infecto contagiosas "Elsa La Corte ". Facultad de Odontología de la Ucv. Caracas.2002. Acta odontol. venez [online]. 2004, vol.42, n.1, pp.21-28. ISSN 0001-6365.

The objective of this study was to determine the possible relationship amongs the inmunological values of CD4, viral load, DMFS-dmf, ISOH and social conditions. The data were obtained from 25, 5 to 50 years-old patients who assisted to the Service of Attention to Patients whit Infectius Contagious Disease "Elsa La Corte ". The results showed that most of the patients belong to the social group 4 following the Classification of Breilh, formed by unemployement and persons in inactivity in a very deteriorating conditions. Thirty six of the examined were diagnosed whit AIDS and a CD4<200 and a viral load between 5.000-100.000 copys. Related to the indexes, DMFS-dmf and ISOH 39,6 and 2 respectively, and there were not significantly differences when data were compared. The averages DMFS-dmf was a 32 surfaces affected and 2/3 of the teeth surface covered by detritus and supragingival calculus. We can conclude even when there were not significant differences when data were compared, we might take into account the presence of 10 surfaces affected by caries in those patients affected by AIDS and make that groups more unprotected to the attack of dental caries.

Palabras clave : inmunological values; oral indexes; social groups; AIDS/HIV.
