The distal extensión removible partial denture retained with attachments cause aditonial stress to periodontal support of abutments teeth, this effects can be controlled by splinting or using elastic attachments.  Splinting more than tow abutment teeth or splint teeth with severe reduce periodontal support adjacent to healthy abutment are questionable situations.
