Abstract

MEDINA VEGA¹, Luis Daniel et al. Utilizacion de la moxibustion en el tratamiento de la celulitis facial odontogena. Acta odontol. venez [online]. 2006, vol.44, n.1, pp.38-41. ISSN 0001-6365.

We realized a longitudinal study to evaluate the effectiveness of moxitherapy as complementary treatment of odontogenic cellulitis affecting patients that   came to Universitary Hospital “ Arnaldo Milián Castro ”  complaining of that infection, during October of 2001  to March 2002. Time of remission of the pain was significantly lower in the group treated with moxibustion. There were   not significant differences according to magnitude of  the limitation of oral opening presented by  patients before treatment; however, during the first, second and third days of treatment, the oral opening was significantly higher on cases group. Dental extraction was realized earliest on cases group . Moxitherapy   is    an  economy form of treatment.
