OBJECTIVE: Consisted on work accidents survey occurred along seven years ago in Araçatuba-SP, Brazil. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Just 313 registers were analyzed registered on Social Providence and that attacked health professionals. RESULTS: The age average of accidental workers was 35,6 years and the mean time worked at the moment of accident was 3,5 hours. On majority of cases (68%) the accidental workers werent dispensed. About gender, 82% of accidents occurred with women. Largest part of accidents (44,3%) attacked the hands and predominated accidents relational with perfurative and cutting objects. Nurses aides were the most professionals attacked (73,5%). CONCLUSION: these percents were reduced through health policy implantation that reduces the risk and gravity of accidents.
