Oral medicine knowledge is very important in the system of healt in Cuba also the early detection of the oral cáncer is an especial program, because are very important in the dentistry field, we made a retrospective study abuot many patientes with lip cancer, than they received differents types of treatment in Maxillofacial Deparment in Ciro Redondo Hospital in Havana between 1996-2006 ( 10 years),because we studied the prevalence in our municipality.The results showed 86% of the cases were smokers, was more frequent in males than females 75.9% and patientes with white color of the skin. Histopathology results scamous cells carcinoma was the most frequent and the lower lip more affected.
