CORASPE-LEON, Héctor; ORTEGA, Eduardo; MONTERO, Freddy  and  ALVARADO, Carlos. El ácido Giberélico en la interrupción del reposo de tubérculos semillas de papa en las condiciones de Páramo. Agronomía Trop. [online]. 2002, vol.52, n.4, pp.543-554. ISSN 0002-192X.

SUMMARY The effect of gibberellic acid (GA) haulm applications on the dormancy of potato seed cv. Granola was studied in Cabimbú, in the high region of Trujillo State, Venezuela. Evaluations were made for concentrations of 0,5 and 10 mg kg-1, sprayed 4 and 7 days before foliar desiccation, and to tubers recently harvested by immersion at the dose of 5 mg kg-1 /10 min, 32 and 47 days after harvest (DAH). During the growth cycle the following parameters were evaluated: emergency percentage, stem number per plant, vigor and height of plants; also crop total yield and yield discriminated for seed (between 30 and 200 g) and for consumption (>200 g of weight) were determined and evaluated. After harvest, evaluations were done of specific gravity, dry matter, weight loss and weight percentage and number and length of sprouts. Results indicated that there is no effect of applications, at the doses evaluated, on dormancy reduction, specific gravity, dry matter content and other physiologic parameters under high mountain conditions. Yields were not modified by foliar applications or immersion of tubers in GA solution.
