Resumen

MONTEVERDE, Edmundo; LABOREM, Gastón  y  MARIN R., Carlos. Evaluación de seis selecciones de naranjos con frutos de maduración temprana sobre dos portainjertos en los valles altos de carabobo, Venezuela. Agronomía Trop. [online]. 2003, vol.53, n.3, pp.347-364. ISSN 0002-192X.

The objective of the present assay was to evaluate six orange cultivars of early maturing fruits on two different rootsocks in Carabobo High Valleys, Venezuela, during three years (1998-2000). Selections evaluated were HA1BO503 (cv. Hamlin), PA6F2422 (cv. Pineapple), PA1B0708 (cv. Pineapple), CM6E3602 (cv. Criollo Montero SS), PB1B0606 (cv. Parson Brown) and IVIA 125-3 (cv. Salustiana). Rootstocks were Cleopatra mandarin, Citrus reshni Tan. ex Hort. and Swingle Citrumelo, Poncirus trifoliata Raf. x Citrus paradisi Macf. Experiment was conducted in a complete randomized block design with four repetitions with a factorial arrangement of a split plot 2x6. Rootstocks were the main plots and selections the sub-plots at three plants per sub-plot. PA1B0708 and PB1B0606 had some favorable quality factors as fruit diameter and juice solids in kg (kg TSS 1000 kg-1), but the high seed number per fruit could limit use for industry and market purposes. CM6E3602 had the advantage of its high yield and tree efficiency, especially on Swingle, and its low seed number/fruit. HA1B0503 was not statistical different from CM6E3602.

Palabras clave : Citrus sinensis Obs; selections; early maturity; productive efficiency.
