Abstract

ABARCA, Oscar I. Metodología de bajo costo para el levantamiento planimétrico de predios agrícolas con sistemas de información geográfica. Agronomía Trop. [online]. 2005, vol.55, n.2, pp.183-201. ISSN 0002-192X.

The objective of this study is to elaborate a land use map with a low cost procedure, in an agricultural sector of some 10,000 ha that it corresponds to the La Caicara Lagoon area of influence, Urdaneta municipality in the south of the Aragua State, Venezuela. For they were used pancromatics aerial photographs that were digitized, georeferenced and geometrically corrected using the images digital processing techniques of a SIG. The land uses were identified by means of photo interpretation and field supervision, and later, the surface of each one of the maped land uses was quantified. The level of precision obtained in the land use map was evaluated graphically, superimposing it with the hydrographic map, digitized for control, and with the digital elevation model of the area. The observed level of precision was satisfactory for the objectives of planning and agricultural management. The cost of the procedure was also compared with one equivalent made with photogrammetric mapping and one of conventional topography, being extremely economic and quickly executed.
