Abstract

Evaluación del naranjo california (Washington Navel) Citrus sisnensis Obs. sobre diez portainjertos en los Valles Altos de Carabobo-Venezuela. 1994-2000. Agronomía Trop. [online]. 2005, vol.55, n.2, pp.265-288. ISSN 0002-192X.

California orange trees (‘Washington Navel’) on ten rootstocks were evaluted by yield, growth, produtive efficency and fruit qulity en Montalban county, Carabobo State , Venezuela . Also, was observed visually the probable appearance of deseases common in the zone. The buds of California orange trees free of psorosis, exocortis and cachexia were grafted on Cleopatra mandarin, Citus reshni ex Hort. Tan. (CLE); Volkamer lemon, Citrus Volkameriana Pasq. (VOL); Taiwanica orange, Citrus taiwanica Tan. & Shim. (TAI); Rough lemon, Citrus jambhiri Lush (RUG); Hibrido Cajero, Citrus reticulata Blanco x Citrus aurantium L. (HCA); the citranges, Poncirus trifoliata Raf x Citrus sinensis Osb., Troyer (TRO), Carrizo (CAR) and Yuma (YUM) and the citrumelos Poncirus trifoliata Raf. x Citrus paradisi Macf., Swinge (SWI) and Sacaton (SAC). For the final evaluation of the ten rootstocks was used the score 1 to 10 according to the position occupied in Kg, yielded, productive efficiency and fruit quality in weight, diameter, juice percentage, total soluble solid percentage (TSS), acidity titirable percentage (A) and TSS: A relation, where 10 was the best position and 1 the worst. According with this SAC and YUM had the best positions with 54 and 53 points respectively. However they were discarded due to its susceptibility to tristeza virus. CLE and SWI were the followings which occuppied better position, consequently they are reccommended as the best rootstochs for California orange trees in the studied zone. In this assay was observerd leaf cupping in trees on YUM similar at caused by tristeza virus.

Keywords : California orange; rootstocks; Citrus sinensis Osb; quality.
