Aflatoxins are mycotoxins produced by Aspergillus sp. This type of aflatoxincauses a carcinogenic effect on adult rodents and a teratogenic effect onembryos after implantation. Donor mice females consuming a high level(3,6 ppb) of aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) had a marked reduction on embryo quality,whereas those donors consuming a lower level (0,8 ppb) of AFB1, hadembryos with excellent quality. Based on these findings we conclude thathigh levels of AFB1 (3,6 ppb) had a negative effect on the quality of murineembryos produced in vivo.
