BRUCATO, Giampapa; GRAZIELLA, María; TRUJILLO DIAZ, Iselen Esther y OROPEZA C, Maira. Micropropagation of lepidium virginicum l. from microcuttings. Agronomía Trop. [online]. 2006, vol.56, n.4, pp.651-656. ISSN 0002-192X.
Lepidium virginicum L., plants are frequently used because they have numerous pharmacological and medicinal properties and they act against parasites. To establish micropropagation of L. virginicum L., 3 month-oldplants from greenhouse were used as microcutting sources. These microcuttings were cultured on MS (1962) medium supplemented with: A: 1 mg l-1 BA, B: 1 mg l-1 BA + 1 mg l-1ANA, C: 2 mg l-1 BA + 1 mg l-1 ANA. A control medium without plant hormones was also used. Initiation, multiplication and rooting of explants were observed on these media. After 30 days the average number of shoots per explant was 1,87. The average length of plantlets after 15 days was 2,4-3,2 inches. The explants cultured on media supplemented with hormones showed callus proliferation.
