OROPEZA, Julio e RUSSIAN, Tania. Effect of the Vermicompost, about the growth, in greenhouse, of the orange 'criolla' it has more than enough three roostock. Agronomía Trop. [online]. 2008, vol.58, n.3, pp.289-297. ISSN 0002-192X.
In order to evaluate the effect of the vermicompost on the production of orange plants 'Criolla' grafted on three rootstock, under greenhouse conditions, an experiment was conducted in the zone of Macanillas-Curimagua, using a totally random design a in factorial arrangement. Factors were rootstocks and vermicompost concentrations with 3 and 4 levels, respectively; three repetitions and six plants per experimental unit were used. Rootstocks were 'Volkameriana' (Vol), citrumelo 'Swingle' (Swi) and 'Cleopatra' (Cle) and vermicompost concentrations were 0, 1, 5 and 10%. Determinations were made of graft length, number of leaves, rate of emission of leaves and the relationship graft/rootstock diameter (Dp/Di), as well as length and fresh and dry weight of roots 100 days after grafting. Results were analyzed with the statistical program InfoStat (P <0,05). It was found that the shortest graft length, for rootstocks 'Volkameriana' and 'Cleopatra' corresponded to the combination of 0 % vermicompost, whereas for Swi, the shortest length registered corresponded to the concentration of 1%. The highest number of leaf emission rate corresponded to Cle-10%, and the largest relationship Rg/Rr to Swi-5%. Greatest root length and fresh weight corresponded to Vol-10%, whereas greatest dry weight corresponded to Swi-10%, followed by the Vol-5 and 10%. The greatest averages in longitude of the graft and number of leaves as well as longitude, fresh weight and dry weight of the root, were obtained with the highest vermicompost concentration.
