To determine the presence of interaction genotype environment (GxE) and its magnitude in grains yield (t.ha-1) and to evaluate the adaptability and stability (A y S) phenotypic of rice cultivars Oryza sativa L. using the models Lin-Binns and AMMI (Additive main effects and mutiplicative interac tions) 15 cultivars were evaluated in fi ve local environments in the main areas rice producer in Venezuela during 2006-2007 dry season. GxE interaction for yield was analyzed using the models Lin and Binns and additive main effects and multiplicative interactions (AMMI). The effects of environments, genotypes and GXE interaction explained 40.58% (P<0.01), 8.09% (P<0.01) and 15.04% (P<0.05) of the total sum of squares, respectively. According with the AMMI model the genotypes PN01B034, PN001B037 and L-1 had absolute values near to zero of the CP1 indicating low interaction GxE, in consequence they were considered stable over environments. In the other hand, Lin and Binns model indicated that FD03B01 was the most adapted genotype. The commercial varieties with higher yields were FEDEARROZ 50 and CIMARRÓN, additionally, VENEZUELA 21 and CIMARRÓN were stables. In relation to environments, Sabanetica and Araure (Portuguesa State) contributes to the interaction GxE; for that reason both are considered the most unstable. In the other hand, Torunos (Barinas State) presented major stability. The model AMMI allowed a detailed analysis of the interaction GxE, facilitating the selection of the most productive genotypes and with better stability; also, it was possible to do an easier graphic interpretation of the statistical analysis
