DE SOUZA JUNIOR, Nilton Luis; CASARI PARREIRA, Mariana e AGUIAR DA COSTA, Pedro Luis. WEEDS IN PEANUT CULTIVATION IN FUNCTION OF THE SPACING AND DENSITY OF PLANTS. Agronomía Trop. [online]. 2010, vol.60, n.4, pp.341-354. ISSN 0002-192X.
The aim of this research was to evaluate the effects of row spacing decreasing and population density on the previous period of interference (PAI) of weeds and yield in peanut, Arachis hypogaea L., cultivar Runner IAC 886. Two row spacing (60 and 90 cm), and treatments consisted of three densities (5, 10 and 15 plants m-1) combined with nine periods of coexistence with the weeds (0, 15, 30, 45, 60, 75, 90, 105 and 120 days after emergence - DAE) were studied. For each row the experimental design was a randomized split-plot design with three replications. In the analysis of the relative importance (IR) of the weed species present throughout the experimental period, four species are highlighted: Digitaria spp., Panicum maximum Jacq., Acanthospermum hispidum DC and Cyperus rotundus L. The grain yield of peanut crops has become negatively in 87, 39 and 11 DAE for the row spacing of 60 cm and seeding density of 5, 10 and 15 plants per meter and it had reduction of 32%, 55%, 77%, respectively, while for the row spacing of 90 cm and seeding density of 5, 10 and 15 plants per meter, PAIs were 4, 41 and 11 DAE, down 65%, 57% and 62%, respectively. On the control, for the row spacing of 60 and 90 cm and for densities of 5, 10 and 15 plants m-1, the grain yields estimated were 4 627, 5 989 and 7 610 kg ha-1 and 4 968, 5 429 and 4 599 kg ha-1, respectively.
