Abstract

RODRIGUEZ, Mayra G et al. Impacto de la biofumigación y materiales orgánicos en la recuperacion de viñedo infestado con Nematodos AgallerosIMPACT OF BIOFUMIGATION AND ORGANIC MATERIALS ON RECOVERY OF ONE VINEYARD INFESTED WITH ROOT KNOT NEMATODES. Agronomía Trop. [online]. 2011, vol.61, n.2, pp.113-124. ISSN 0002-192X.

In order to determine the feasibility of implementing the management of Meloidogyne in grapevine, Vitis vinifera L., with biofumigation and organic materials existing from Cuba, this study was carried out for 3 years. Four areas were established in the field in three biofumigation alternated with fresh foliage mixture Cannavalia ensiformis L. + Azadirachta indica (A. Juss.) + Pig manure and organic materials such as rum and cured chicken manure as well as a control area (where the producer used chemical fertilizer NPK). After applying each treatment (2006-2008) was quantified galling index (GI) and the number of infestive juveniles (J2) in soil at the beginning of each harvest cycle. Were determined physicochemical characteristics of the soil at the beginning and end of the study and quantified yields (t ha-1) in the three crops. In plots where we used biofumigation and organic materials decreased the GI and the number of J2, in the first case the GI of five to two and fell to 9-12 juveniles J2 5 g of soil-1 to 4-5 J2 5 g of soil-1. Yields increased in the treated areas and the test plot was demolished at the end of the study by declines in the extent and the effects caused by nematodes. It was possible to improve health conditions, physical and chemical characteristics of the soil and vines recovery in the treated areas, as a demonstration to the producer of the possibilities of using Biofumigation and organic materials in this crop in Cuba.
