Feeding children with acute diarrhea should be sufficient, timely early and full, must be designed to provide the necessary amount of calories, protein, fat and carbohydrates to ensure proper growth and minimize the effects of diarrhea on nutritional status. Broadly complementary diet should be recommended in children older than 6 months and must include rational protein and energy such as grains, tubers, flours and fats, restricting more not avoiding, altogether during the acute episode the consumption of simple sugars because of its osmotic effect and saturated fats in general, by the effect on emptying food.

Keywords : food; diet; acute diarrhea; nutrition; children.
