Abstract

RONDON, Lisett et al. Síndrome blue rubber bleb nevus: Tratamiento endoscópico con argón plasma. Gen [online]. 2006, vol.60, n.4, pp.312-313. ISSN 0016-3503.

Blue rubber bleb nevus syndrome is a rare entity consisting of multiple rubbery blue nevi and hemangiomas, affecting the skin and the gastrointestinal tract. Loss of blood from the gastrointestinal tract is a major problem and commonly causes chronic anaemia (occult gastrointestinal bleeding) or massive bleeding. A 7-year-old boy presented to the hospital with chronic anaemia. Endoscopic explorations showed many black hemangiomas of variable sizes ranging from 4 to 6 mm in diameter at the stomach, and colon. Some lesions were flat, slightly elevated and others were polypoid hemangiomas. Argon plasma coagulation was applied in all lesions successfully, without complications.

Keywords : blue rubber bleb; polypoid hemangiomas; argon plasma.
